TAKING TIME TO EXPLORE ART, PHOTOGRAPHY AND ARTEFACTS ONE WORK AT A TIME

USING THINKING ROUTINES
Have you ever wanted to learn how to slow down and look at a piece of art, an object or a photograph taking time to notice details and make connections?

Developed and designed at Project Zero, Harvard, Visible Thinking is a broad and flexible framework for enriching learning. Central to Visible Thinking are Thinking Routines: practices that help to make thinking visible. Visible Thinking aims to provoke and challenge perceptions acting as catalysts to deeper conversations and thinking, encouraging and promoting curiosity.

The Art of Slowing Down inspires a sense of discovery, encourages fresh perspectives whilst creating a shared, inclusive experience.

Anyone who is curious, interested in collaborative approaches to team building or wants to find a new way of approaching the familiar or unfamiliar.

THE BRIEF
Use animation as a dynamic medium to challenge young people to interpret objects

THE OUTPUT
Working with Chocolate Films, four short films investigating four objects from the Jewish Museum London’s exquisite collection were created. Each film explores a different aspect of the richness of Jewish heritage.

The Animated Museum enabled the audience to create as well as consume knowledge. Using artefacts as springboards for deeper enquiry, the young people took creative control and produced their own response.
